Tuckered Out

Today Mommy took Gracie and Me to go see Papa and Grandma! Oh I love them!

As soon as we pulled up, we jumped out of the car and I ran right to Grandma who was waiting on the porch.

Gracie and I ran, played with Buddy, went on a walk with Mommy, and then before we left, we got some love time in with Grandma. Grandma said we were all “Tuckered Out.”

I like when we’re tuckered out. It’s the only time Gracie snuggles with me.

I'm not sure, but I think Grandma was tuckered out too!

Audra's Dog Happy Dog

Mommy says I am ADHD.

She usually says this right after I jump up from sleeping in her lap and I run eight laps around the couch, roll like a log around on the floor and then run up to Gracie and bark at her.

She said it last night when, after racing outside to go potty, I ran smack into the small grill our neighbors had put out earlier in the day. I smacked into it, rolled backward and then got up and ran after Gracie.

Notice she had to hold me still for a picture recently.

She laughs a lot when she says... "Georgie! You are so ADHD!"

So I figured it out.

ADHD = Audra's Dog; Happy Dog!

I gotta go... I need to chance my tail before I jump up and down on my back legs while trying to catch an invisible bird!

Num Numm Nummmm.

Num. Numm. Nummmm.

I'm still teething!

Mommy said it is interesting that Gracie didn't like chewy sticks until I started eating them. Now she HAS to have one when I have one.

That's ok. I don't mind sharing! She's my big sis and I love her!

Woofstock

Mommy told me all last week that we'd be going to a thing called "Woofstock" on Saturday and that we'd have a rrrremarkably wonderful time!

But then, I never went anywhere on Saturday.

The next day, I asked Mommy why we didn't go anywhere and she reminded me that she was gone all night on Friday night while I slept. She was working and there were a lot of naughty teenagers in Butler County that night. I remember when she got home, she took a shower and left again, saying something about a training in Andover.

Anyway, she came home and laid down. Gracie and I crawled in bed with her. Oh BOY do we love snuggling when it's nap time! We all ended up sleeping through Woofstock. I had a good time napping. Doesn't it look like we're all happy!?

Yea! Dr. J is gonna fix me!

This week, Mommy took me to a place that she called “The Vet’s.” When she told me about it, it sure did sound like fun!

I was kind of sad that Gracie had to stay home by herself. I didn't quite understand when she murmurred to me, "Good luck, Kid."

“The Vet” turned out to be a place where I got to smell a lot of really wonderful smells! I realized that I've been there before! I met a few other doggies, all of them bigger than me!

A really nice lady picked me up and put me on a big silver square thing, and Mommy just clapped and said, “What a big girl! 3.2 pounds!” I am not sure what I did, but Mommy and the lady seemed very happy with me! Yea for me!!!

Later, I was sitting with Mommy in a room when a really nice man came in. Oh! I remember him! I’ve met him before. Mommy calls him, "Dr. J."

Just like last time, he held me and talked to me and looked in my ears and ran his hands over my body. But, then he picked up a really sharp thing and poked it into me. Then he sprayed some stuff up my nose!

I don’t know why he’d think I’d sit and eat that treat he gave me. I wanted Mommy and I wanted to leave!

Mommy didn’t leave right away. She and the doctor stood and talked for a while. He said, “Are you going to fix her?” And then they had a long conversation ending with Mommy saying, “I’ll call and we can get it on the calendar.”

I don’t understand. I didn't know that I was broken.

Oh well! I trust Mommy. Yea! Dr. J is gonna fix me!

The Scoop on the Poop

I just don’t see what the big deal is! Mommy keeps asking why I don’t poop outside. Well, Mommy doesn’t poop outside! Why should I?

Sure, I am a good girl and I go pee-pee outside. I’m fast about it, too! When Gracie and I run outside, the first thing I do is lean in and let it go. Gracie has to turn her neurotic circles, stop and smell the length of the yard, and then do her circles again before she finally goes pee-pee.

There’s some dignity in going pee-pee that just isn’t there when I have to “assume the position” for a number 2. When I pee-pee, I just lower my belly to the ground and let it go. I am not exposed and standing in a horrible position for the entire world to see!

I realized one day that Mommy goes into the special room when she goes potty. I got to looking at the room, and there are two pretty pink rugs in there! Those rugs are very cozy and I think that they are a very good place for me to go poo. It’s private, it’s comfortable, and it’s OBVIOUSLY the correct room for the deed.

Mommy said that if I am going to do it inside, she’s glad I chose that room. She mentioned something about the rugs being washable.

I found this video online and thought I’d share it with you.

Uncle Buddy

Mommy says that Uncle Buddy hasn't always been a white doggie. She said he use to be all black. I didn't believe her until she showed me the pictures.
See? This is a picture of Uncle Buddy with Papa that was taken in July 2006. Mommy said this picture was taken right before Buddy's accident.

Mommy says that at the end of July that year, Buddy was running (maybe chasing a rabbit!) and ran into a stack of cinder blocks. He hurt his nose and his eye. You can see the healing wounds in this picture taken in August 2008.
Other than the wounds he had on his face, Mommy says everything seemed fine. Mommy says he was always a slim dog who ran a lot and was always happy.

This picture was taken in September 2006. Mommy says that everyone was stunned about how Uncle Buddy's face was starting to turn white. Papa and Grandma took Buddy to see the doctor who ran tests and said he had a genetic disease that was dormant and for some reason decided now to take over. Mommy says she thinks the doctor said it was like Lupus in humans. They gave him a lot of medicine, including steroids, and Buddy got bigger really fast. Mommy says he seemed kind of sad.

Mommy doesn't have a lot of pictures of Uncle Buddy between September 2006 and December 2007. Mommy says that was her "Blue Period" and she didn't take a lot of pictures. I don't know what that means, and I'm not going to ask!
Anyway, this picture was taken in December 2007, and as you can see, Buddy turned all white! Some of his body hair along his sides is black, but mostly he is white. He is fuller and he is back to his happy self even though he still takes medicine, Mommy says. When I see Buddy we run and play and romp.
Everyone loves Uncle Buddy. Mommy says all the pilots who stop in to see Papa at the airport like to talk and play with Buddy and pet him. Mommy says he's a good dog and has a lot of adventure stories to tell. Maybe someday I will learn another story!

Everything is GREAT!

This weekend was SO FUN! After Mommy woke up on Saturday she kept telling Gracie and me that we were going to go see someone named Papa. Gracie got really excited about this news; I couldn’t remember who Papa was, so I wasn’t THAT excited.

We got in the car. Oh BOY do I love the car! Do you know about this thing!? You leave the house and get in it, and before you know it, when you get out you are somewhere else! How cool is that!?

After we’d been in the car for a while, Mommy started beeping her horn and Gracie started going crazy. I sat up and looked out of the car, and looked to see what was up. OH MY GOSH! We were back at that really neat place with lots of grass and pavement and airplanes and that really nice man who likes to hold me! OH! THAT is Papa!

Oh, Boy, do I like him. But you know who I like more? That dog that lives there. He is GREAT! His name is Buddy. Here is a picture of him.

After Gracie, Buddy, and I ran around for a while, we went in to see the woman named Grandma.
She’s a nice lady, but Gracie really monopolizes her lap and gets SUPER GRUMPY if I try to sit on Grandma.

Before long a few other people joined us and they brought Sophie! Sophie is my cousin and I love her! She is so fun! We all walked up and down the runway and took Mommy, Grandma, and Aunt Angie with us! It was hard to keep up with Gracie, Sophie, and Buddy, but Mommy said that I held my own. Here is a picture of Sophie.

I’m not sure what a Birthday is, but everyone kept telling Papa “Happy Birthday!” and they sang and they laughed and they ate A LOT of food. While the people had fun, I had fun playing with all the squeaky toys! Birthdays are FUN!!!

The next day, Mommy, Gracie and I took naps ALL day long! We were so tired from our busy Saturday! Mommy said she was recovering from working on “The Grant.”
I don’t know what that is, but I think it has something to do with why she stayed up late at night for weeks and didn’t sleep well when she did go to bed.
Sunday was great; she slept a lot and said everything is great.

I agree with her! EVERYTHING IS GREAT!

Poor Doggie

When Mommy is gone for the day, or snoring with her head under the blankets, I like to sneak on her computer to see what kind of poodle fun is out on the internet.

I found yet another example of how people are mean to their babies.

I find it very disturbing that after I showed Mommy this video, she laughed really loud and then got online to look for doggie booties.

There But for the Grace of God

Dear God, PLEASE don't let my mommy see this poodle. The t-shirts and dresses are cute enough!

A Tuckered Out Pup

Oh, boy! I am tuckered out! This weekend I finally got Gracie to play with me a little bit. I chased her while she ran around and around the house. She didn't try to bite at me, and Mommy was cheering and telling Gracie, "Good Girl!" so I think it was a very good thing.

Mommy says that I have two speeds, fast-busy and dead-asleep. I don't know WHAT she is talking about!

A Puppy's First Blog

Six weeks ago, my life changed! I was living at this great place in a room with my brothers. One day, this lady came to visit me. She made lots of noise, clapped her hands, and took lots of pictures of me. She kept saying to me that she was my new mommy. I smelled her neck and ears, then licked her a few times on her chin. She seemed ok to me, but then she left!

I began to think that she was just teasing me when she said she was my new mommy, until one day she showed up again! This time, she took me home with her! It was so weird to leave my brothers, and it was very weird to have this lady taking pictures all the time!

The best part about going home with this lady is that there is another poodle at her house! That doggie's name is Gracie. She's kind of grumpy, but I think she'll warm up to me if I keep jumping up and down on her. She's bound to see my inner joy and love me as much as my new mommy does.

My name is Georgie, and this is my blog.
